Prostate cancer develops when prostate cells begin to multiply and grow uncontrollably, in most cases this process is silent and the man does not notice its evolution. Some habits, in addition to the natural aging process, also contribute to the emergence of the disease, such as a very fatty diet, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and not practicing physical exercises.
In Brazil, 65,840 men per year will be affected with this type of cancer. The disease leads the Brazilian ranking in the proportional distribution of types of cancer among men, with 31.7% of new cases, with lung occupying the second place with a distant 8.7%.
The risks of developing prostate cancer increase with age. If you are over 40 years old or have a family history of the disease, consult a specialized doctor and undergo a preventive examination.
